Seyahat, a journey towards nothingness. An endless voyage of disagreements and uncertainty. Relying on ourselves and on others. Seyahat: let’s embark on the great journey.
Seyahat is the first production by Dunatacà, directed by Andrea Torres. It was born out of concern for the rejection faced by Syrian refugees from European institutions in early 2016. Seyahat means journey in Turkish. It is also a call to the consciences numbed behind television screens. Numb and indifferent in the face of these events, suffered not only by Syrian refugees but by all displaced people who have existed throughout history.
Seyahat premiered at the 6th Edition of the Russafa Escènica Festival in 2016 and has since been performed over 50 times at street festivals, unconventional venues, and theaters. It has also been featured in events advocating for human rights and the rights of refugees, organized by Red Cross, CEAR, Amnesty International, Morvedre Acull, and other organizations.
